CAE Results and Test Data - ONLINE (ENO-COR15P)

Description

Correlating CAE Results with Test Data

Learn how to interpolate CAE results, highlight issues, and correlate to physical test data using nCode with online instructor-led training!

Experimental testing has historically helped engineers evaluate component performance and estimate a product’s functional life. The growth of robust computational capabilities in CAE tools has enabled engineers to improve time to market and product life by performing powerful predictive analysis. These CAE predictions need to be correlated with experimental data in order to strengthen confidence in simulation results. This evolving technology has led engineers as well as managers to challenge how they can better correlate Finite Element Analysis (FEA) results and test results to improve product design and development. This instructor-led online course investigates methods for test and CAE correlation. Correlating CAE Results with Test Data builds upon our introductory courses and provides an in-depth view of comparison techniques. An emphasis is placed on hands-on comparisons of different dynamic analysis techniques so you’ll learn best engineering practices while gaining software proficiency.

Our ONLINE courses are delivered in real-time with an instructor available to answer questions.

Learning Objectives

  • Compare results from measurement and CAE prediction
  • Create analysis processes to assess and improve correlation

Topics included

  • Correlating structural dynamics
  • Experimental modal analysis
  • Visualizing mode shapes
  • Modal assurance criteria (MAC)
  • Introduction to FEA and test correlation
  • Virtual strain gage
  • Load reconstruction and strain gage positioning

Target Group

This advanced course is aimed at engineers who have completed either nCode DesignLife: Fatigue Analysis using FEA Results or nCode GlyphWorks: Signal Processing and Test Data Analysis and would like to take a more in-depth look into correlating FEA results with test measurements. It is assumed that attendees have familiarity with general structural analysis concepts.

Requirements

Prenscia Academy Online courses require the use of a computer with a licensed nCode software installation. All registrants will receive a temporary nCode software license to fulfill this requirement. The instructor will use a webcam for visibility. Attendee use of webcam is optional, however audio/microphone devices are necessary.
The knowledge of courses "nCode DesignLife: Fatigue Analysis using FEA Results" OR "nCode GlyphWorks: Signal Processing and Test Data Analysis".
